About Essential Resiliency

Marilyn Kopasz, Founder

Using science-informed tools, I work with groups and individuals to understand and regulate unwanted responses (nervous system), heal trauma, and grow authentic resilience.

Essential Resiliency Origin

Trauma is real...but it doesn't need to be stuck inside.

Did you know that trauma changes the brain? It impacts our children, families, and relationships. It shapes how we see ourselves and the world. Trauma can leave lasting effects—but it does not have to be a life sentence.

There was a time in my life when I was diagnosed with Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. I carried that trauma, believing it was just part of who I was. I tried counseling and prescription medications, but nothing brought real relief—until I looked outside of traditional therapy and found tools grounded in science and blended with complementary healing practices.

In 2019, I opened Essential Health & Hypnosis, LLC after completing a dynamic 30-year career with the U.S. Department of Defense.

In 2025, I launched Essential Resiliency after earning a Master of Education in Trauma-Informed Education from Columbia College. This expanded venture builds on my original practice, offering science-informed, healing-centered services that support both individuals and professional organizations.

If you are seeking real, practical and compassionate approaches to heal trauma, achieve regulation, and grow resilience, you're in the right place.
